The word ‘Huhu’ is the second half of the Chinese phrase mǎmǎhǔhǔ (马马虎虎). It means “so-so” or “meh”. But the Mandarin character for hǔhǔ also means tiger, an animal at the top of food chain that has long been a symbol of strength and power. I love this phrase because of the juxtaposition of the meaning of the phrase and words itself. And I think something that can mean both “just getting by” and “don’t mess with my cubs or I will tear you to shreds” sums up the Parenting Experience perfectly.
Oh hell yessssss
